My first Ar, I started ordering parts on the 13Jun09 and finished up tonight  came in under $ 800.00
lower went together easy peeazy. I have learned allot from some of you and for that I thank you all ( cant remember all the names ) The lower and upper matched very nice in color and tight almost to tight if there is such a thing. All you people debating an AR build do it my only suggestions would be. Use site sponsors if possible good people to deal with. Get a $25.00 membership it is well worth the price for the information that is shared here although your can get the same info without the membership, which speaks well of the members here 
also in the Team section there is a thread that list Good deals and in stock parts that's how I got mine completed in 11 days at what I feel is a good price, well worth the 25 bucks IMHO.
