how is it done? just got a dti lower for my 16" dti upper.

now I want to build an a1 with my old stag lower.

so now I have to remove the magpul trigger guard & put it on the dti lower.

is this one of the guards with rollpins on each end?  If it is, you'll need to destroy the guard to get it off.

Not if it is one of the short roll pin type guards. That means that there is open real estate inside the trigger guard that the pin can be pushed into. It isn't as hard as it may appear, Magpul designed the roll pin (short enough) to be pushed further into the trigger guard when removing. It will clear the lower's trigger guard tab and be completely inside the trigger guard. Once the trigger guard is off both sides of the trigger guard are open and the pin can be driven out.

stupid me. the front pin is not a pin at all but an allen screw.

That's the type I have. The also make this type with a little hole drilled in the top of the guard. It allows you to put the detent style retainer of the stock trigger guard in it.
