I bought a complete Denny's Guns Operator upper from the EE here a while ago. I was using it with BUIS for a while and never noticed, but the rail system is off alignment with the upper receiver rail. I found this out when I attempted to put my Eotech spanning the front of the upper and the back of the rail.
I've never worked on an upper receiver before... what is the issue? How do you line these up so that they will be perfectly aligned? It's not such a big deal to have the Eotech spanning the rail and receiver, but the alignment will be off if I decide to move the sight from the receiver to the rail system, or vice-versa... |

I used a detachable carry handle and spanned it over the upper and rail, works good. |

Need to know what kind of rail system. It's a Midwest Industries midlength two-piece. Then it is indexing off of the barrel nut teeth. If it is a Denny built upper, I cannot imagine him putting it together wrong. You could index the barrel nut to make the rail come up straight, but the gas tube needs to be free floating and there is a chance that it would put it in a bind. I don't know how far off the rail is misaligned. Unless you have the tools and know-how, I'd suggest just leaving it alone. Brett |

Brett I don't know if it was for sure built by Denny... it was sold that way and the barrel is definitely a Denny's Operator though. It's not off a LOT, but it's enough that I can't span optics from the receiver to the rail system, and the POA is off if I put the optic on the rail versus the receiver. |
