Hopefully this isn't a dumb question. I've just put together a .260 upper for my LR-308. When I installed the gas tube, I noticed that the gas hole was on top of the tube, pointing away from the port. I have put an upper together just once before, so I don't know if it's correct or not. Anyway, the gun didn't cyle, even though it shoots beautifully, a la bolt action. What gives? If it is wrong, can the tube be turned over and rebent correctly?
Thanks |

Thanks Sounds like it's installed upside down or they did the bends upside down. |

yeah, I don't think the bends would let it be installed wrong. Can it be rebent without breakin it? If I have to get em to send another one, I may have to send it back. They can be installed upside down. Folks have done it. Try fipping it and see. Your gonna need to pull it anyway if it's drilled wrong/bent wrong. |
| Okay I removed it and there's just no other way to install it. SO I called the guys I ordered it from, and a new one is on the way. In the meantime, I put it in a vice and carefully rebent it. I was thinking that the stainless would be too hard to bend again without breaking, but it went alright. I'll check for function later and update. |
