I just began a build. I had an LRB lower, and picked up a RRA LPK yesterday. Anyway, I installed everything, but I'm wondering if my hammer spring is sitting in the correct orientation. It looks like it should be sitting in that recess on the rear of the hammer, but for the life of me I couldn't get it to fit there. I actually had forced it there for a couple seconds, and the spring started to deform so I backed it off and left it as is. It drops the hammer with authority, so I don't think I FUBAR'd it, but if someone could comment, I'd appreciate the help!  Thanks in advance!

The above pic explains it all. Looks good to go. Is this your first build?

Yes its my first AR build. I've put together several FAL's, but this will be numero uno for AR's. I think I'm going to need to build more, there's a nice instant gratification with these and none of the headspace issues of the FAL. I also really like the looks of the LRB lower the rollmark is enough but not too much and the lower did everything it was supposed to...despite me! Thanks for the prompt reply, puts my mind at ease. Can't wait to shoot this sucker.

Check out the assembly video at Lifelibertyetc.com.  I put mine together Saturday night, my first. I planned for about 2 hours and it took me about 45 minutes. Honestly, it only took that long because I moved very cautiously and kept double checking everything. Not a bad idea but I was expecting it to be a lot more difficult than it is.  I put 50 rounds down range on Sunday and couldn't be happier with the results:

EEsh ...Well he gets it done but...go easy on the hammering... and put some shoes on.

Edit; also... use punches to line things up before you start hammering tapping.

The videos on the Brownells site are really good between the thread here and the videos it was really easy to build this thing.
