ok here is the deal just put my first lower togather everything went togather great except the trigger guard has to much play in it its a spikes lower with rra lpk i  already have a smith m&p and its tight as can be. is there any way to get it to be tighter i thought about putting in in the press but i was afraid i might break the ears off the lower. when i tried to bend them any ideas would help thanks

duct tape, fixes everything... sorry I honestly don't want to be the one to say, "try the press" and then get rattled for it later.  I bet if you were careful the press would do it though.  Did you pound a little too hard when you put the pin in?

Can you be a little more specific? What's loose? Back and forth? Side to side? Pins have play? Don't Press or hammer anything yet!

sorry need to clear it up it is side to side movement the pin went in easy just a littile lite tapping with the ears suppoted the front one is a little loose also side to side movement as well. its kinda like the gap is to wide i was thinking that pressing it might close the gap.

again thanks for the help guys

I had the same prob. with a Spikes lower and dpms lpk. I replaced the standard trigger guard with the magpul enhanced... no more wiggle.... (I believe it was the pin though)

I for one would not recommend trying to squeeze the ears together. If I understood you question this is what you were considering. There is no bending or memory to these ears. If you squeeze it will break. A little looseness is not uncommon in the trigger guard. They are intended to swing down when opened for a gloved finger. If they were tight this wouldn't be possible. I have had varying degrees of this situation (notice I'm not calling this a problem) but none that would make me resort to drastic measures.

+1 on the Magpul trigger guard suggestion. There is just more material on the roll pin end of the guard. They are designed to stay in place and don't seem to have any real free play in them. I also happen to like the looks though others can't stand the sight of them.

replace the trigger guard  they are cheap. On some of them the roll pin will go in with ease,They do vary .Others have to be practically hammered in.I've have to file some out before installation and others can be tapped in easily.Be sure to support your ear before hammering.DO NOT PRESS! you will break it

It could be the detent spring in the front of the guard but  I'd go with the mag-pul trigger guard. I have one and they're worth the $20.00!.... Duct tape! LOL!

The Ergo Gapper will help tighten it up.It fills the trigger guard gap.
