Hey guys, i have pretty much finished my first build and decided to simultaneously start my 2nd one before i can no longer find anything i need. I was hoping to build a 6.8 instead of a .223/5.56 because i have heard nothing but great things about the 6.8 and how much better it is than the 5.56. Now being that i know nothing about building a 6.8 rifle i had a few questions.

1. I have a POF gen 1 lower that i have already outfitted with a CMT/STAG LPK. Now i assume this LPK will work for a 6.8 because the only difference that this rifle will have is the BCG and the barrel, but please correct me if im wrong. Also the lower has the term Multi engraved where the caliber marking is so i assume that this lower can support a range of calibers including 6.8.

2. What type of buffer spring will i need? Because im sure a carbine one for the AR15 won't work properly being that it's a heavier caliber.

Thank you in advance for your input -Dep

Ok now, the bolt carrier is same as a 5.56, the Bolt is the difference....same carrier different bolt.
Mags are different than 5.56.
You will very likely be just fine with your std carbine buffer spring and buffer...unless you decide to procure a Superior Shooting Systems flatwire spring...likely not needed but it's a great spring, I own several.
If your building it, be sure you get at the miminum 1-11 twist barrel with a SPC-II chamber or the DMR Chamber.  Do not buy the SPC chamber or a 1-10 twist barrel in any combination.

I really enjoy my 6.8.

Ok just to clarify a few things and out of curiosity why is it bad to get the SPC chamber, and will the 1/10 twist rate not stabilize the round appropriately?

and i assume the lower receiver and the LPK were fine.
