so here is my problem, I am returning my rifle back to factory stock and I had to buy a new FSB and pins. I got the FSB but my pins don't fit. I ordered two sets of FSB pins from RRA and neither work. So where do I look now. They need to be tapered also.

The FSB is drilled with the barrel as a unit. A FSB off of a different barrel isn't going to fit.

The RRA pins were not tapered?

I bought a a set from RRA and they were tapered but were too big the other set was not tapered and too big.

If they are one unit then what is the point of having extra or replacement pins?

Get a 2/0 tapered pin reamer form MSC and clean up the holes in the barrel.....

will that widen them? The other question is are there smaller pins to be found?

EDT: My old FSB was F marked will that make a difference.

Who made the barrel is the more important question. F marked just tells it is made for the correct height to match a flat top receiver.

The barrel was made by RRA

Sometimes a barrel thats already have had FSB pinned on it, when replaced with new FSB you find holes don't line up, this is because most FSB's are not fitted with a fixture in exactly same position. On occasion you will have to plug the old holes so you can redrill and ream new accurate 2/0 tapered pin holes. To plug you just use old pins and drive into tapered holes in barrel, I use forever Lok-tite, then file them smooth and flush with barrel. Drill new #31 holes from small pin end through FSB and barrel then ream 2/0 from large pin end till pin almost fits by hand. Clean taper hole and drive new pins in. DOESN'T require BFH, 12oz hammer works. 2/0 taper is a self locking taper and will only loosen if not reamed correctly or attempt to use pins in mismatched holes.

I would think that the taper pins, if from a reputable source, should all be one standard size. I always have a couple sets on hand in my spares box, have swapped out taper pin sets before, and never had a problem.

I ran into this on my pistol. The holes don't line up. I ended up tapping the FSB and installing four short set screws.

See I thought the they were not lining up but they are they are just slightly too small. Is there a way to open them up a little.

I was at my local ACE Hardware this morning, rooting through their bins, when I noticed a drawer labeled taper pins. I peeked inside and was surprised to see some pins that looked similar in size the the standard FSB taper pins, and some that were slightly smaller.

Again, these taper pins looked similar in size the  standard FSB taper pins. Just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who is in need of FSB pins and might be in a crunch for time or unable to find pins due to the current parts shortage. A trip to your local ACE might warrant itself.
