Made by Continental Machine Tool (CMT).

I have seen that stamp on Stag, BushMaster, and I believe a couple of RRAs

I have a Young phosphate BCG that was purchased a few months ago.  It also has the CM stamp on the bottom of the bolt.

Here are some pictures of the bolt and the assembled lower.  However i still need to install the rear take down but I dont have a stock yet.

Here are the CM Markings

How is the staking on this bolt?

Here is the complete assembly so far, I had some trouble with the two of the roll pins I just need to make them a little more flush

I would not be totally happy with that staking, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't shoot it.  Just keep an eye on it.  If the screws seem to be getting loose, tighten them (to spec) and then re-stake them yourself.  No biggie.

Well I just ordered a few parts from PK that should be here end of the week

ACE Skeleton Stock
Carbine Length Gas Tube
Double star 2 piece quad rail

These shipped out today from bravo company
BCM Removable Carry Handle
CMT Charging Handle
M1 Folding Site

I canceled my order from stag for the bolt
and The following from model 1
CAR Gas tube w/ pin
C.A.R. Fiberlite stock, complete with buffer & spring; Fixed position; Black
C.A.R. aluminum free float tube; Knurled

There is another show this weekend hopefully I can grab a barrel and some ammo and head out to the range.

However Im still keeping the barrel on order from model 1
ER Shaw 16'' C.A.R. Heavy Barrel, 5.56 NATO, chrome lined chamber & bore, 1-9 twist, 11 degree target crown, no bayonet lug; Gas block front sight base

nice job! it looks like all you need now are some mags and ammo.

I am way to indecisive and impatient.

I contacted M&A, and they had 16 post ban upper assembly in stock, so I jumped on it.  I also ordered  a second bolt assembly.  It should be shipped out end of the week or end of next week.

I canceled my model 1 order, and Im just waiting for some stuff from bravo company, and pk to come in.  Unfortunately now Im going to have some extra parts to get rid of but that shouldn't be a problem.  Im just going to keep the ones that look the best for the build.
Extra upper, parts kit, bolt assembly, gas tube, and possibly hand guards.

Ill post more pics as the parts come in.

So my package from bravo company, and model 1 came today.

Bravo Company Carry Handle, This thing is really nice

M1 Front folding site (I dont think im going to need this now, but im going to hold on to it)

I also included was the cmt charging handle

Finally the first parts kit I ordered from model1 came in.  I have to say from a quick glance the dmps grip is a lot nicer piece.  I can only imagine the rest of the dpms parts a just a little nicer.  You get what you pay for

Also what kind of initial oiling do I have to do, and do I use a different type of oil than my pistols?

Use CLP-and plenty of it-while breaking in the rifle.  I also use Tetra grease on the trigger and hammer pins because it smooths them out pretty quickly.

Ace stock came in today, along with buffer and spring.  However they forgot to give me the buffer tube :-(  Not a big deal I just need to have them send it over, but I was looking forward to putting it together today.

Also I got the double star hand guards.

My buddy picked me up an a2 buffer tube at a gun show today, So tomorrow I will pick it up and finish the install of the butt stock.  I also order 260 rounds of remington 223 55gr from cabelas.  Almost there just have to wait for the barrel assembly to arrive.

Very nice build...I'm in the process of building my first AR too.

I'm just waiting on my lower to be placed in my hands after my background check goes through! lol

Thanks for the comments

I assembled the stock last night, the rubber piece from ace was a bitch to get onto the buffer tube.  Once I got it on though everything went together nicely, and it feels pretty comfortable.  The upper should go out this week, ill keep my fingers crossed.  I went to the range yesterday, hopefully the next time I go i'll be shooting this.  I also put my extra parts kit on gun broker, time to start getting money back on this build.

Im thinking of going with a free float rail instead of the clamp on double star,  I was thinking the carbine length larue, or daniel defense.  What are your opinions.  I want to do this build right the first time.

Finished my build

Last week my upper came in from M & A

Then today I was able to get the FSB off and put on my daniel defense gas block, and larue free float rail

I agree, the bolt key needs a better staking job.

I also swapped out the standard grip to the ergo grip.  What a difference, it definitely fits the hand a lot better.  I want to finish it off with magpul ladder rail protectors, and a tango down vertical foregrip.  I plan on taking it out this saturday if the weather is nice.

Well I shot it today, only put 80 rounds through it so far.  It seemed to work flawlessly however all my shots seems way off.  To high, and to the left.  When I put the barrel on I forgot to torque it to spec.  Do you think it pays to take it off and re torque with the appropriate grease?
4/9/2009 3:33:29 PM EDT

Did you zero the sights??

I was trying to, I have a BCM Carry Handle , and I had it all the way down, all the way to the right.  I have to go again with a spotting scope.  Two of the guys at the range where trying to help me out, but it was off to much.  Not even on the target.

Put some grease on the uppers threads and torque to 30 to 80 ft.lbs( torgue wrench is a must).
Most do this 3 times, tighten, loosen, tighten, loosen, tighten, loosen then tighten for the final time, makes the threads conform much better to the barrel nut, make sure you dont use a silicone based grease.

I set my torque wrench to 30 ft.lbs then if the nut has to be turned more to get it lined up for the gas tube then I tighten it to line up

There is a thread on this forum that explains this much better.

Q2. What about the torquing three times, to 80ft/lbs like the TM says?

A2. While using a torque wrench is never a bad idea, it is not required. Snug it up, three times, then line up with next gas tube hole. Sometimes this will take a lot of force, sometimes just a little. If you arent sure, or nervous, go to the local auto parts store and borrow a torque wrench for ft. pounds. The point of snugging it up three times, is to mate the aluminum upper receiver threads together with the barrel nut.
