any suggestions on a bolt carrier group not the most expensive
but also not the cheapest.. just a good middle of the line... thanks dave... |
Personally, I don't think that a chrome lining is "necessary". A Young MFG chrome lined BCG is going to proably be another $100 more than a RRA. To my understanding (not having ever owned a CLed BCG) I believe the CL reduces wear, but not astronomically. If I wasn't trying to build two rifles at once, then I might have picked one up.  Bottom line is, if your trying to get a bolt for cheap than a CLed bolt is not necessary. However, if you have $$$ laying around, than its your call whether the reduce in wear makes it "necessary"

| If you're willing to wait for a while you can get pretty much anything. It's a matter of money and how bad you want it. RRA BCGs are going for almost $200 on the EE. LaRue sells theirs for $130 plus you get goodies with that deal. You can but an LMT as well. I'm personally going to wait it out, save the cash and buy the LaRue when they come back in stock. |

Young chrome bold carrier groups are 165 for regular, 230 for match. worth 25 dollars IMO.
