Well I did it last night.  that's right I tried to put the pin on while in a room with carpeting - Damn thing flew somewhere!!

Is it possible to source this pin at an ACE Hardware or similar??  What size of roll pin do I need?

I would hate to order from online and have to pay 8.00 shipping chare for a .15 piece.

Please help a brother out, thanks.

I'm sure the adventurous guy with time on his hands could take a finish nail or the likes and duplicate the rear pin. You can always use a micrometer or caliper to measure the specs. That said in the long run you would probably feel better about just biting the bullet and ordering one. Brownell's will ship you one for $4 shipping, I know that this is still pretty tough to swallow.

I just put one in yesterday and couldn't help but notice that it looked pretty much identical to the trigger guard pin.

Maybe someone else would know this for sure.

The retaining roll pin is .093 or 3/32, and yes its the same size as the trigger guard roll pin

OK this is great news as I didn't use the Trigger guard pin due to the MIAD - Sweet, I'll try it tonight.

Not the same size as the trigger guard pin.
It is the same size as the bolt catch pin but not the same length and the same size as the  A2
sight base pin.

As far as the $8.00 for shipping goes - DelTon has an option where you can pay a fair USPS rate for shipping small parts.  Usually the cost of a stamp or a little more.  Of course, that's when they start to catch up on their orders.  I've been waiting 2 months for an ejection port cover e-clip.

You sir are correct in that it is not the same size as the trigger guard pin.  I tried last night to force the trigger pin into the Assist pin hole - no way!!!!

Guess I'll bite the bullet on the shipping charges.

Just another option - Brownells has the DPMS pin in stock for $1.11 and their lightweight item parcel post option is only $4.85 (still high, but not $8 high).

(Tip: It never hurts to spend a few bucks extra when you order stuff and add a few pins and spare part items that you might not need now, but might need in the future. )
