With the Gun Buying Panic (GBP) in "full powershot crisis mode" I decided to pick up a stripped lower back in December (Essential Arms/$150)).  It was a nice Christmas present to myself.  Finding a LPK proved to be harder than finding the damn lower!  DD's Ranch moved 45 LPK's in 5 days.  :)  there are 10 left as of this post.

I did everything I set out to do.
1) Took about 5 tries to get the front detent for the front take-down pin installed.
2) Launched the buffer detent into orbit (1 time)
3) Turned the air blue with my colorful words trying to get the %#$( hammer installed!

... which is why I posted this morning.  The trigger pull on this thing is not good.  It's ridiculously heavy.

What is the overall consensus about putting a 25 degree bend in the spring?

(sidenote:  The Rock River Arms bolt catch did not fit.  I would have had to grind it down had I not had a spare.)

Maybe Bill Springfield trigger job may be in order here.

JP AR Reduced Power Spring Kit

$9.95
The "Poor Man's" Trigger Job

Spending $140 or more for trigger parts on every M15 rifle you may own may not be realistic. If you can't quite pop for our complete trigger kit, or have too many rifles and can't justify expensive triggers in all of them, then this may be for you. You can achieve a significant improvement over stock parts by using a set of our custom trigger/hammer springs and the Rydol sear compound. With proper sear and hammer notch preparation, a livable 4.5 to 5.0 smooth trigger in a rifle with standard trigger components is possible. It will not have the extremely short engagement/over travel feel like the JP trigger, but you will have a smooth "roll-off" feel that will give usable trigger control. The spring kit includes trigger, hammer and disconnector spring and complete instructions on how to prep your parts for best results.

Stock riggers are notorious for being heavy, but "safe"....meaning you REALLY meant for it to fire. That said, I would NOT bend the spring as you may end up with unreliable ignition.Cheapest way is as mentioned...a lighter spring kit.But that still doesn't fix the shit feel of the trigger. Some people don't care about trigger feel...I do.If you like a nice, smooth, light trigger without a 1/2" of creep get a aftermarket trigger, like JP,Jard,McCormick, and many others.
