Going to start my first build sometime soon and wanted to know:  Would it be easier, with the front sight off the barrel,  to assemble the delta ring, split spring and c clip to the barrel nut first and then slide it over the barrel, and then align the gas tube hole?  Or does the barrel nut get screwed into the upper first?

When I installed my barrel, the flash hider and FSB are removed, then I slid the barrel into the upper - indexed the indexing pin of the barrel to the upper receiver, slid the delta ring assembly on the barrel and then tighten the barrel nut per spec, then align the gas tube hole, you're done.

Next install the front sight base with the front handguard cap, then install your gas tube with the gas tube roll pin, last would just be your flash hider with crush or peel washer.

Here are some instruction with pictures which also helped me when I made my own ARs.
