Ok, putting together my first LPK and I took a break to not break anything.

My Bolt Release is very weird, and it's not even installed. When placed in the littele channel it runs in, it sticks. I am using a RRA LPK and RRA lower.

<sigh> What's the issue here? I'm not going to start forcing anything because if I break or lose it it will be monts until I find the parts for sale again. I thought this would be relatively easier than taking about my USP completely and taking it from V1 to LEM...but not so much...

It sticks on what? In the channel?

There isn't any foreign debris in there?

It isn't sticking because the hammer is up is it?

Hammer is not installed. there is no upper around either. If I were to try to completely install it, it would catch on the channel and not move freely.

Damn man, I feel like I'm just going to ask you another stupid question. Don't take it wrong.

Did you fit the bolt release before you started the roll pin?

It isn't just pushing it over to the side is it?

Without anything pressing on it except me, aka no roll pin influincing its movement, it is getting stuck in the channel. And it starts doing it without it being place all the way in.

Sounds like something is out of spec.  How bad is it sticking?  It shouldn't really be too much of a problem, unless it's sticking really badly.  Just install it and work it around a bit, it should loosen up.

check to make sure there isnt some casting flash on it. I have had some stick like that , with a little stoneing or emery cloth they worked fine.

Look for flash in the channel as well as burrs or whatever on the part itself.

Take a bit of emery or whatever and gently sand the channel etc.  If it's just catching a tiny bit, it will clean up and run fine.

If you get it to where it's just a bit tight oil it up, install it and work it back and forth until it loosens up.

Ok, looked over it and the bolt release slightly bent. It's happening at the button/pivot area.

A buddy is doing a build with the same parts. His release fits fine in my lower, and my release has the same problem in his lower. Upon inspection it is visably canted. Called Rock River and I'm waiting for a tech to call me back.

So I said fuck it and took a fine stone and sized it in. Oh well.
