So I built my first, ever, AR15.  The hardest problem I had was fiting the trigger guard(I got a few scuffs) and another problem I had was fitting the pistol grip. I didn't have a long enough allen wrench, I had to replace the standard grip fastener with a bolt that worked in its place(a $.09 "upgrade"). Oh yeah I forgot how hard it was to fit the first detent.

I started with an Essential Arms stripped lower, bought a week after the election.  Then I got antsy and started looking for stuff.  I picked up a DPMS LPK.

I ordered:
CAA 6-piece adjustable pistol grip.
DPMS A2 rifle stock - complete kit
RRA BCG
"Big Latch" charging handle

And then a member on this board offered me a good deal on a DTI 20" Heavy Stainless Barrel 1:8 twist. I jumped on it.

I put it together as everything started coming in. I think it started coming in on Monday everything else came in today. I put it all together

The finished product:

looks good you need some taller rings, you're going to have to smash your face on the stock.  also is that dust on your scope lense

looks nice!

FYI The easiest way to put in the roll pins for the bolt catch and the trigger guard is to take a set of channel locks, wrap each tooth in plenty of electrical tape. Then line the pin up and give it a good squeeze, pin should slide right in.

I agree I need new taller rings. An yes that is dust on the scope. I need to find a good setup for optics.

The grip is great. I used the finger grooved front strap and the medium palm swell for the back strap. It is solid and comfortable.

I have noticed that the fit between types upper and lower isn't tight. I'd there anyway to tighten this up?

You could try an Accuwedge.

A upper does not have to fit up tight to the lower, its nice if it does but it wont affect the lieup of the receiver and bolt carrier group unless there is an issue with the buffer tube assembly.
An accuwedge will tighten it up but plays havoc on the rear takedown pin hole, I would just shoot it and forget it.

Nice build.

I'm especially taken by the tactical socks.....

I would suggest adding 1/2" scope risers to the existing rings. Other than that, the gun looks great.

Look at the second item down in the linked page.
