I bought a CMMG complete 16" m4 upper from AIM. It is a 16 inch barrel and I was thinking of buying a 14.7 barrel. Is the barrel the only thing I have to change?

Unless you have NFA/SBR paperwork, you'll need to have a muzzle device to bring it out to 16" perm attached prior to receipt.

Probably be better off to send it to Kurt at KKF. Ask for this: Cut/Crown/Thread/permanently attach non-KKF FS-$55/labor.

I planned on getting a phantom flash hider on it so it would be 16" total. I meant would the gas block and the handguard work with a smaller barrel.
