Dtech / 23" 1:10 Shilenselect match barrel
Mike's custom compensator Tuned RRA 2 stage trigger Winter trigger guard WOA Varmint handguard Millett TRS-1, 4-16x50 (I have a 2x Aimpoint I want to try on it for night hunts) Armalite 30mm one piece mount Harris S25 Bipod w/pod loc Ergo Grip Have a Vickers Combat Applications sling on the way to try on this rifle. Without a front sight post, I'm not sure yet on the best way to attach a sling to this handguard. I may end up adding another sling stud to the side of the tube. It weighs 11 pounds with a loaded 20rd mag. That doesn't account for the bipod, so add another couple pounds. You definitely know it's on your shoulder while trudging a half mile through snow. It's probably better set up for prairie dogs than coyote, but I can use the excercise. http://files.mleaf.net/dtech204/IMG_0475.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/dtech204/IMG_0477.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/dtech204/IMG_0479.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/dtech204/IMG_0480.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/dtech204/IMG_0481.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/204/snow/DSCN2508.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/204/snow/DSCN2509.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/204/snow/DSCN2510.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/204/snow/DSCN2508.jpg http://files.mleaf.net/204/snow/DSCN2519.jpg |

I plan to use the DPMS 24". Russ, how do you like the hi-rise upper? I was going to go with a low upper but looks like you have more room to get to your charging handle with the hi-rise if you don't use something like the larue forward scope mount. I like the Hi-Rider upper receiver just fine. I do not care about having FA's, brass deflectors, or dust covers and kind of like the look of the oval lightening holes. I use a Badger Tactical Latch, so cycling the bolt with my left hand is no problem with the scope. |

Yeah, not too pretty but it's more about not wanting a coyote to notice it in the middle of a snow covered field. 100% more temporary than paint. Might want to do something different in an urban environment. LOL. Yep. Here in San Jose we might wrap the rifle with the S.J. Mercury News comics section. Then it would blend in with the other street debris. (only joking, S.J. is actually a pretty tidy city.) |
