The detents fit pretty tight on them when new, they will loosen up some as you shoot it.

Is it a front or rear pin?

If you have to, you can take a punch (put some tape over it to protect the finish if you're squeamish, but hell, its an AR- -its made to be shot hard and beaten, not to look pretty in a gunsafe) and give it a gentle tap.

If its a rear pin, and its really stuck, take your stock off (the detent spring is retained by the stock- -once you have the stock off, the spring should come out, and take the pressure off the detent, and the pin should fall out)

If its a front pin, take the rear pin out first, and hinge the upper on it a few times, then tap it out with a punch.

Once you get the burrs worn off, they'll come out normally.  Having a tight pin is a good thing!

The detent is captured in the pin if installed correctly..give it a little tap with a soft hammer.

Thanks. It is the rear pin. Thought of shortening the spring by a coil or two . It is really tight.

Mine was really tight after I completed the build.  I just worked it back and forth a bit, and now it moves more freely.  I think like others have said, there may be just a burr or two holding it up.  Also, the shortening the spring a bit to lower the spring tension should help resolve as well.
