3) Any semiautomatic firearm not listed in subdivision (1) of this subsection that meets the following criteria: (A) A semiautomatic rifle that has an ability to accept a detachable magazine and has at least two of the following: (i) A folding or telescoping stock; (ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon; (iii) A bayonet mount; (iv) A flash suppressor or threaded barrel designed to accommodate a flash suppressor; and (v) A grenade launcher Since the AR has a detachable mag, and a pistol grip, that means I, III, IV, V cannot be added or you go over the "detachable mag plus at least 2 is illegal." But what about a bolt on muzzle brake (if it exists), would that be considered legal and not one of the items above? That would mean no threads. Or would bolting something like that to the end of the barrel cause serious issues should you "crimp" the barrel? Sorry for the noob questions. |

permantly attatched muzzle break is ok A comp that is pinned and welded will meet ban regulations. Once it is pinned it is no longer concidered a threaded barrel. You could also silver solder a comp on but I personally like the weld method. This. Pinned and welded non-flash suppressing break. Also, I would change the name of this thread from "barrel tip for a CT gun" to "muzzle device for a CT gun." |

CTbuilder1, did you intend to put a link to something in your post? Or just "clarifying?" Just reinforcing what was already stated. Many guys here in CT have had work done by JoJo's gunworks in Southington. They do offer a pin and weld service as well as a break that looks similar to an A2 flash hider. If I were to do a post ban build myself I would look into the FSC556 break. A bit expensive but it has been getting great reviews. |

The muzzle break must be permanently pinned and welded Prior to receipt by either a competent gunsmith or the manufacturer. See the actual CT Law in this post.
It might be easier to first buy a post ban barrel(plain muzzle) and have it sent out and threaded and a muzzle break permanently pinned and welded. |

hey OP, you might want to check out JoJo's Gun Works in Southington, CT they have a custom muzzle comp that they machine in house and will perma-install for you. they start with a standard a2 flash hider and do some magic and then clean it up. JoJo's Gun Works |
