Here is my 6.8 build which is almost complete. I should have been done. However, I had to send back my barrel to WOA to be re-cut to SPCII. I was misinformed from the co. I had purchased the barrel from and when I received the barrel, I noticed the production date of 07. So, I verified this with WOA and sure enough, it was SAAMI chamber. My Barrel should be here 12/22. No worries for new WOA barrels.

Here is the parts list;

POF Lower 415 Gen II
TEMNEY 4# Skel Trigger
MAGPUL MIAD Grip
MAPUL UBR Stock
VLTOR VIS Rifle Length
YOUNG NM Carrier w/ LMT 6.8 Enhanced Bolt
MEGA Charging Handle With Badger Ordnance Gen II Tactical Latch
WOA 18" SS Barrel
VLTOR Low Profile Gas Block
PRI MSTN QC SS Brake
TROY F/B BUIS

Pics...enjoy,
Nick

Have you looked at the RRA star safety switch? Oh yea, what kind of take down pins are you using?

Thanks a lot, now I'm looking at building one too.  I have been resisting all this time, now thanks to you I am going to build one, oh yes!

Question is, if I get an upper w/o bolt or carrier do I need a specific bolt for the 6.8 or does the 5.56 bolt work?
12/22/2008 6:31:23 AM EDT
[#10]
You need a 6.8 bolt.   The carrier is the same but the bolt is different.   I know LMT makes one in their Enhanced line (about $155) and I believe CMT (or CMMG, not sure which) also makes one for much cheaper.
Cheers,
cc

you read my mind I was thinking of making almost the identical rifle.  Seen a noveske 18" upper and I am trying to do it a little cheaper.  Looks good, real good.

give a total of all spent, and I have been searching for some of these parts and no one stocks them.  where did you find them?

uscombatdiver...haha! I say YES...build the 6.8!
Exactly what Dublin said regarding the bolt. You also need a 6.8 barrel and mags.

What to Do??? So, after a 14hr day at work and knowing my barrel is back from WOA...do I grab a cold beer and relax on the sofa or do I get to work on the build???

My thoughts exactly!!! I grabbed a cold Stella and went right to work. Only took about 15min to get done and about another 30 or so min of fondling. Only thing I'm waiting for is the rear buis...then, I'm done for now. I'll post pics soon, I'm just too shot right now.

Please let us know how it shoots. I am especially interested in how that trigger is for you. I am currently in the market for a better trigger and I like the looks of the one you got.

Great looking gun!

Awesome gun! The only thing I would change would be that saftey! The RRA star selector would be alot better and they offer Ambi ones too.
