Greetings, I have a Bushmaster LE Heavy Barrel Carbine. I just installed the 9" LaRue handguard system. This meant I had to remove the FSB and install a low profile gas block.

The install all went smoothly - BUT, I ended up essentially butting the gas block up to the barrel shoulder, instead of leaving the very small gap to take into account for the stock handguard ring. Now I measured this ring and it's like .0020 thick.

So, here's my question: Is it OK to install the gas block at the shoulder instead of leaving the very small gap? I haven't had a chance to shoot it to see if it's short stroking. I will say that the LaRue gas block seemed to have a slightly oversized gas hole, so maybe I'm alright?

Has anyone out there installed the LaRue gas block in a similar manner?

Thanks in advance, Dave

Yes, my LaRue gas block sits against the shoulder and works fine.
