Gentlemen:

I did a search but was not able to find what I needed.

I am building an AR.  I have a stripped CMMG lower, a complete CMMG upper Midlength model 1506 with the flat top.  I also have a DPMS lower parts kit.  I ran out of money a long time ago, but want to get the rifle completed.

I need an inexpensive stock assembly including the buffer stuff, and an inexpensive rear sight.  I may upgrade the rifle later, much later and am not interesting in a nice $250 stock, expensive scopes, etc.  Many people have mentioned Troy sights but they are over $100 and though probably worth it, if I had to spend that + a buffer tube I might just postpone completion.  If people think it is better to pospone instead of getting cheaper parts, thought suggestions are welcomed.

The use of the rifle will be as follows:
1. Purchased while I could still get parts for one, not that I really wanted one, but I or my son might want/need one someday and may just sit in the closet for a long time.
2. Infrequent shooting, assuming I complete it.
3. Backup rifle to my AK in case of a SHTF situation.
4. Maybe some prarie dog hunting, not most likely not.
5. Sort of an investment, but not specifically that.

I am not going to be competing with it, and right or wrong, am not in a position financially to practice weekly/monthy with it.  I have a .22 for that.

Thank you for your consideration.

Get a new/used  CAR or M4 stock on the EE.  I'm getting an RRA M4 stock for 60ish. AIMsurplus sells UTG rear sights that are A2 carry handle style cut down. They're about 30 and I'll be picking one up pretty soon if I don't just get a carry handle.

Model 1 sells a $42 CAR stock w/buffer, tube and spring; it's not a popular choice, but I've used one and it works.

The UTG rear BUIS is available at AIM, I believe. Again, not a popular choice, but functional.
