Im interested in installing a smith vortex flash hider on my  stag upper.  Directions state to use a torque wrench to 10pounds.  I dont have a torque wrench.  Anyone know if it would work to just screw it on and  tighten it up real good? Do you think I should use lock tight?  Thanks

You could screw it on by hand. It will not come loose.

+1.  Hand tight, and you're GTG.  No fucking around with crush, or peel washers.

Do not use Loc-Tite.  The helical design will keep the Vortex tight each time the rifle is fored.  All you need to do is snug it up and it will be fine

If you dont have the vortex yet, I'm selling one on the EE.  I'd like to get at least $45

for it and I'll ship it to you USPS for free!  It's brand spanking new in the original

package.  It's for .223 of course!

I heard awhile back that there were fakes in circulation, they do not have the helical twist featured on the SEI vortex. Make sure you are getting the genuine product.
