Based off what I have read so far there are about a million different opinions but I am going to ask anyways.
I got a couple DPMS stripped lowers at the gun show this weekend and already have my lower parts, tools, and stock on the way. So been shopping on the internet for complete uppers and THINK I have narrowed the list....I am trying to stay under $800. Like the Stag with the quad rail ($695) and also like the Talon/SDI ($619)....but then I noticed that the Wilson Combat Arms UT-15 complete upper is $699. Have also looked at LMT which are around $700 but do not seem to be in stock that I found. The weapon will be for a lot of shoot and hopefully never for serious self defense but I do not want to call it a plinker...otherwise I would just get a mcuh cheaper Olympic or DPMS upper be done with it. Please dont think I am a DPMS snob, I already own one in 308 and love it. Going to start off with BUIS and will get an optical for it...EOTech or Aimpoint very soon. Could not really find much on here about SDI or Wilson....perhaps I am searching in the wrong area too. I would love to hear opinions on which is better and why....need some justification. Thanks ahead of time! I don't really know how to answer your Questions. I have been Happy with everything I've built except the Heavier Rifles. I like 7 to 7 1/2 Pounds Max. That might be a consideration. HB and Bull Barreled Rifles get heavier Than Chit With Accessories. I have a couple 16" at or above 12 Pounds.
