| Is there a trick to this? I can't even budge the damn thing, and I'm afraid of damaging my buffer tube in the process of trying to take this stock off. |

No real trick here. Here's what works for me. Sometimes the forward part of the stock gets stuck up against the back of the lower receiver and / or the front of the buffer tube. Completely remove the top screw on the rubber buttplate then take a plastic faced hammer and tap the forward collar of the stock a few times to dislodge it from the lower/buffer tube. Then drive the stock assembly rearward by hitting the rear buttplate down where the small lower tube enters the plate. Keep tapping the front block of the stock occasionally until its free of the lower receiver. Remember that the foam sleeve needs to follow the stock off of the buffer tube as you remove the assembly. Don't lose or damage the takedown detent spring as the stock slides back off of the lower receiver. Good luck. |
