Here it is a Spike's Lower. I need to get a buffer tube and butt stock to finish it off.

One thing I found very helpful is that when I did the front pivot pin I placed a sofa cushion in front of the lower to catch the detent if it shot out. It worked out very well as it took me a few tries to get that step accomplished but I never lost the detent despite launching it half a dozen times.

Assembly was pretty easy. The vice grip method of driving the bolt catch roll pin really worked out great as well.

I'm gonna call CMMG tomorrow and see what the wait time is on their 20" Gov't profile uppers.

Once I get her fully put together I'll post another pic.

$220

I know it's probably a bit high but I wasn't trying to be a savvy shopper I was just trying to get one and build it.

If I do another one I'll try and find one of these 99$ lowers I keep hearing about

Update: Just ordered a Gov't profile 20 inch CMMG upper with detachable carry handle and a A2 Buttsock kit.

They told me about 2-4 weeks so we'll see when it shows up.

I'll post pics when I get it all together.

Well No 20" Gov't upper for this lower. CMMG is on back order forever. Bushmaster had a fall sale though so I picked up a 16" carbine upper. Here's my first build:

I picked up another Spike's Lower for the CMMG upper that will get here eventually and that'll be my 2nd build.

I'll probably upgrade this carbine as I go along as well, since the rear sight and stock were just extras I had lying around.

I think I'm enjoying the DIY part of this hobby.
