I am looking into getting a Model 1 Sales Kit in 6.8mm.
It says the upper half is fully assemblied. Does that mean I only need to assemble the lower receiver? I thought it would be more work than that.

Just curious what the opinions are from people that own or have experience with them. If the upper is already assembled I was going to save the money and not buy the action blocks.

Thanks

You will not need a receiver block to assemble the Model 1 kit - the upper is ready to put on the lower and go, once you've put the lower together.

I've used a Model1 7.62x39 kit and it's a great rifle. I did put in another trigger, though.

some people have said bad things about m1s, I purchased a 16" car kit from them in 06, I have been nothing but happy with it. Shoots accurate. Functions flawlessly, never had a a failure in 2000+ rnds shooting mill surpluss m855 and remington cheapo bulk. would make the purchase again and again. Also one of the great things about m1s is the upper is completely assembled. nothing to really do but put the lower together and then a slide two pins in. pretty easy install.
