Long time lurker, new member...I don't have much to say that hasn't already been said by ARFcommers elsewhere and better but I finally have a reason to post! I've been agonizing over going the SBR route for a long time, and finally dropped the hammer on a Tactical Innovations stripped SBR lower.  I wanted billet, and after researching my options I called TI yesterday and talked with Craig...what a great customer service experience! We chatted for 15 minutes about guns and various unrelated topics...I was sold! Called back today and ordered one of their Billet Deluxe SBR-registered lowers. If this lower is half as good as the customer service, I'll be completely satisfied.

Now the wait begins...

In the meantime, anyone else have experience with TI?

First off, Welcome to home of BRD!

I don't have one yet, but I'll be picking one up in about a month.  I've looked over the ones my local dealer has in stock and they look very nice. I'm hoping the angular look of the billet lower will match up nicely with the VIS 3 I'll be using.

ETA- The captured take down detent spring is a great improvement.  I don't know how many times I've removed a stock without thinking and shot the spring across the room.

Where in Montana are you?

I have no experience with them but I know a long time vendor here on the board is fixing to start having them make his lowers.

Damn, does that mean that they will be off the market right about the time I try to pick one up while they crank out a bunch with different rollmarks.  Because that's what has happened with the SMOS lowers.

I'm in Great Falls, but I'll be working in Helmville for the next several weeks.  I'm going to try to get to the precision rifle match over there next month.  I was over there for the three gun match last month.  I'm really hoping to get an SPR type rifle put together on the TI deluxe billet lower for the precision rifle match at the High Ore range in Sept.  I've already got a VIS 3 upper and Noveske SPR barrel ordered.

Missoula is full of Hippies, but at least there are a couple nice ranges and some good matches to attend.  There is nothing in Great Falls but a crappy range in a wheat field where the wind blows constantly and the only competitions are cowboy action matches.

Who's doing that?  You're not confusing them with SMOS who is not making LaRue lowers are you?  Just curious

Nope different companies but since this person didn't say it was ok to talk about it I don't want to spill the beans.

I don't know if it matters to you or not, but some people like to blur the serial number on their lowers.  Nice build you have going.

Build looks great! What are the specs on that bad boy, craSSh? I see some Stag, TI, Samson, First Samco, ARMS (?), a nice shiny carrier...and a T1! I'm really wanting one of those to keep my SBR build as "low drag" as possible to compensate for the user being really, really high drag. Like a 1987 Dodge Caravan. Kind of squishy, actually.

Waiting for a range report!

I am a dealer for Tactical Innovations.

Their lowers are awesome!  I sold out of the forged, mid grade billet and the fancy BDX lowers at the Bozeman gun show last weekend.

I have built up one of the forged lowers for a friend with a Stag LPK and it went together flawless. It had a perfect fit on his RRA upper.

Shipping from TI is quick to Montana.  They ship USPS Priority, so it will arrive in no time.  Craig is great to deal with and I am 100% happy with TI.

I just ordered one of the billet BDX lowers for myself that I am going to put an LMT MRP upper on it.  I can't wait to get that rifle built. It will be a gem!  I'll put some photos up when she is all built.

Oh and one more thing.  Request the new laser engraving on the lower.  You get the current lower with the HK "style" pictograms and no logo.

They still have about 40 of the old style forged lowers with their name logo on them that they are selling.  Not a huge deal because the lower is the same quality, but with their logo.

Here are some photos of the current forged TI Lower:

The upper is a Stag 2HTL that I had on a Bushmaster lower. The 2HTL comes with Samson rails and ARMS buis.  The Bushmaster lower needs to be refinished/painted so I put it on the TI lower. I took the lower parts outta the

BM and put it in the TI.

Aimpoint H1 w/ Larue mount,  Larue FUG, Magpul CTR, and First Samco complete the build.  I've ran @ 700rds through the original combo which performed flawless.

The fit and finish on the TI is very nice.

ETA:  Good luck with your build and post pics.

I chose a TI forged lower for my first build, and I'm very happy with it so far. Mine is still a work in progress, though. I have built the lower with an RRA LPK with the national match trigger, and I hope to pick up a stock assy this weekend at the fun show so I can at least slap on the upper from my Armalite and try it all out.  Eventually I hope to build either a SPR or dissy style upper for it, but that won't happen unti l the end of the year. I really like the captured takedown spring. That is a great feature for a noob like me

Lower just arrived at the local Class III today. The guy behind the counter was blown away by how beefy it was--it looks like a little aluminum Abrams. Now I get to wait for the final transfer from the dealer to my sweaty, lustful claws. Obviously the final verdict has to wait until assembly, but DAMN, that lower looks badass. I think the Noveske Crusader upper i just ordered will find itself in good company.

Did I mention how excited I am?

I actually bought one from Cardinal about two weeks ago.  I am actually using the op to invest serious money into it.  Got the Magpul UBR and a Timmey trigger with a standard lower parts kit (all the same right?).  Have a stag upper, bolt, bolt carrier (all lefthanded), and will top it off with larue with an aimpoint and make it a 6.8 hog machine.  Ill post up what i have but the fit and finish on it is perfect and is one of the best i have seen.

Just ordered my LPK, buffer tube, Magpul CTR, and other lower necessities from DSG Arms last night...received shipping confirmation this morning--holy cow! I wish THEY were processing my form 4. Also noticed they have their teflon-coated mags w/ Magpul followers for $10! Seems like a good deal...Larue sells these same mags 6 for $90.

The ATF wait will give me time to ship my trigger & hammer off to Bill Springfield, though.

Moral of the story: DSG=win.

That's a sharp looking rig ya got there!

I just bought that same TI billet lower from Rainier Arm a few minutes ago. I got the urge to build/buy a precision rig and that lower ought to do just fine!

Can't wait!

Thank you Sir!  I'm afraid the photo doesn't do it justice, it far exceeds my skills.  I think you'll be satisfied with the purchase.  Post'em when you get it.
