I have an older Mosin Nagant and some ammo. I am also in the process of building an M4 profile AR-15. My question is, should I sell the Mosin and its ammo to fund the new build. It would be one more gun that shoots the .223 and one less caliber to worry about. I am not worried about being caught inbetween selling the one gun and having the other one built. Thanks all D |

Depends on how much ammo you have. Selling the Mosin is almost pointless as there are still plenty on the market. So very little money coming back out of that deal. However that will change in time the glut will dry up some day and you may still wish you had it. Then again my Mosins are all WWII productions and I keep them for that reason. If you have 5-10k rounds of ammo so that you had some real money tied up there I'd say sell all but 1k or so and keep the rifle and the ammo. The extra $100 from the Mosin won't make that much difference know and someday you may really wish you still had it. |

Keep the M-N, I just bought 2 of them. As already said, they are common now, but the supply will dry up and then the prices will go up. I had a couple of M38 Swedish Mausers several years ago, I bought them when I lived overseas. Paid around $65 each for them. When I came back stateside I left them with a friend. Figured it would be too much of a hassle to bring them back and I could just buy one here cheap. I've looked around for another one and they are all over $300. Mosin's will go the same way in a few more years. Besides that I can buy brand new (ok arsenal refinished and new to me) Mosin's for $69. You aren't going to get much more than that for yours. $69 will barely buy you a lower parts kit. |

Snake, For sure keep your Mosin Nagant , and even buy more ammo for it while it's still around at a low price., A few years down the road it maybe worth a lot more, and it does hold for long ranges it even makes a good deer rifle with the right ammo -Soft point /H point. Put a scope kit on it and have fun it's hard to beat for that alone. Best, yls |

I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't sell guns. At all. You aren't going to get much out of it, so really, what is the point? An extra $100 isn't all that hard to come up with - work a few overtime shifts. Keep it, keep all the ammo you can find for it, and one day it will be worth more. On top of that, it's another perfectly good gun that packs a decent punch. Never a bad thing to have laying around when the zombies start humping their way toward your house. |
