I am going to replace the barrel on my wife's 6.8 with a white oak 16" mid with low pro gas block. I know next to O about free float tubes but have been reading up. I would like to put a hogue FF but they only come in car and rifle. This is a hunting rifle so no rails. Will a rifle tube fit over the gas block or does the gas block have to be removed to install hogue ff tube. I know different ff tubes install different ways. I called Hogue to find out how theirs installs, barrel nut was all they could tell me. Are all ff tubes 2 piece or is one piece better? Thanks

All you have to do is cut off the front sight post.  Leave the remains of it pinned in place so will never come off.  Just slide the free float handguard over and there you go.  Here is mine after I had my front sight post chopped off and had a YHM free float tube installed.  Just IM if you I can help out.  Good luck.

That looks about what I want, rails an option on the YHM which is good. Hogue has zero option. YHM  had installation instructions on their web site which pretty much answered my questions on the setup and install.      Thank for the pic
