I recently committed to buy a LMG upper (A2 w/no forward assist) From what I understand, the LMG had a HUGE gas tube, the size of a pencil - so I'm wondering how this will affect the build - is the hole through the barrel nut enough to hold it securely, or should I plan on making a bushing for the gas tube? (I'll be mounting an M4 barrel.)

My concern is that the 'connection' between the carrier key and the gas tube might not be optimal, and could cause some problems. Should I worry? I want this thing to be dependable + as it's a 727 style KISS carbine build. Maybe it's a stupid question - I posted it on M4 carbine.net and got no responses...come to think of it, neither of my posts got any responses. ( I asked for 727 pics too.) Am I just out to lunch? I'm a retro guy, so this is a huge leap forward technology wise... are A2 upper M4s just considered to be the red-headed stepchild of the M4 world? Cause if that's true, I REALLy want one!
