I was thinking of a custom AR build using a Krinkov muzzle break, but would it even fit or are they threaded differently? Would some loctite fix any problems if it's too loose?

Krinks have metric threads. The primary reason for the krink brake is to trap gas for a longer pulse and increased reliability. There's really no reason for one on a rifle. But if you really like the look there's always the Noveske flaming pig. If you ABSOLUTELY must have the real deal get the 5.45x39 one and rethread your barrel with metric threads. And a BIG NO on the locktite.

I used a Bulgarian 22mm AK flash-hider on a bum barrel I got in trade.  It was supposed to be a factory 14.5" barrel, but what I got was a 13.75" threaded barrel.  It was made from a cut down post-ban barrel.  Unfortunely, most of the AR flash hider weren't long enough for it.  So I got a 1/2"-28 to 22mm thread apadtor from Adco Firearms.  I then pinned & welded the adaptor and flash hider to the barrel to make it clear the 16" oal.

The Center adapter on the Bulgy Krink break is removable, So you can always have a machine shop make a new insert thats threaded 1/2x28.

There is also the CMMG Krink and KX3. The KX3 is the lightest out of the 3 mentioned.

I used a True Bulgy Krink on our Tomahawk 22LR project and we had the insert made in 1/2x28, They are just heavy. The Nice thing is the Cone is chromed, the KX3 and CMMG are not.

The krink FS the Russians used was originally a US design.
