I want to build a combination home defense rifle and range rifle.  The main requirement is that it can devour the cheapest steeel case ammo I can run through it at the local range.  I will probably clean the barrel every 300 rounds and clean top to bottom every 500 rounds.  What things should I keep in mind as I decide what parts to use in my build.

5.56mm chamber, and you should be fine. Wolf is a little underpowered, so you might skip the H-buffer though.

Buy used parts. A new rifle might not like Wolf till it's broken in.

Underpowered Wolf will have an easier time operating a mid-length or 20" barrel gun.

My RRA middy with Wylde chamber eats Wolf like candy.

+1, and add "chrome-lined" to the 5.56mm chamber recommendation.

I have ran about 300 rounds through a new 20'' A2 with no problems. I sure can tell the difference when i switch to M193 though, the rifle has much more recoil.

In addtion to what have said, get a ungraded extractor spring (like from BravoCo).  I find that rigs that dont like Wolf, dont have the correct extractor spring.

I like Defenders too.

I just put a carbine together with a Stag model 2H upper.  I have only put about a hundred rounds through it, 30 were brass cased and the rest were Wolf Military Classic and it ate them like a champ.

After my 16" carbine Del-Ton upper kit was brushed/cleaned properly (when new) I haven't had 1 issue with Wolf. I've ran 55g fmj, 62 fmj, 62ghp, ect. I would say I'm getting close to 2K rnds....(have never fired brass through this one)

Well, I bought 1000 bullets to load, so I won't have to go steel case yet!
