This is the latest build here on the homefront.  I recently moly and duracoated it in OD and will finish the camo job later.  I plan on shooting it this weekend and am worried about one setback.  The Front sight base will not line up with the barrel pin cutouts.  There is only one pin in (closest to shooter).  Is this a big issue?  Should I find a different front sb?  Or am i good to go?  I figure the secondary pin is for extra assurance but I can't see that first pin moving or should I say removing itself.  Thoughts?

The pin holes do not line up correctly because front sight bases are not interchangable.  Do you still have the original FSB?

The single pin at the rear should be enough to prevent malfunctions but may not be enough to keep the sights zeroed if the tower gets banged hard enough.

That makes sense.  No unfortunately I sold the original FSB only to replace it with this one.  Heres to learning though.  I guess I will eventually switch to a different style block.  Glad to hear it will still go boom when I need it though.

In the last picture, it looks like the front sight is too far forward.  It should be flush against the shoulder of the barrel at the end of the handguard.  If I'm looking at it correctly, the gas port hole in the barrel isn't going to line up with the hole in the sight base, and it's likely not going to cycle.

I prefer my fire arms to go bang, boom normally just hurts, but to each his own.

It is definitely borderline but the hole in the bottom of the FSB is much larger than the port in the barrel so there's a little room for error.

Thanks for the input and I agree bang is better than boom.  As far as the holes lining up it seems that when I put it flush to the side of the barrel the holes did not line up as good as when the pin holes were lined up. (I hope that makes sense)  If not just know that I considered that and looked at it.  Also know that I am going to shoot it next weekend and hopefully more bangs than boom will occur.
