Tap the pin back out

Push the pin thru the lower alone without the upper testing for fit.
Do same with upper testing for fit.

Sight (Look) through the holes to make sure they are alligning properly.

Try various other pins.  Squeeze the upper and lowers together while inserting pin. Grease holes and pins.

If you can't find a pin that fits then something is out of spec.  You may have to polish the holes or the pins.

Last resort....Use a 2lb sledge.

ok, i found the problem. my takedown pin is rubbing just a little bit on the inside of the upper receivers hole. i think just taking the paint thats inside of it off will take care of the problem. anyone have any ideas as to how i could do this? just use a file or something?

Just work it back and forth with some lube on it. You have an upper and lower that fit tight, good thing. I wouldn't file it or remove any material.

Yeah, don't file anything. Get it together and shoot it, it'll loosen up on its own.
You may initially need a punch and hammering device, but you should be okay after a few range sessions.
