Just curious, why would you wait that long for an RRA lower when you can get a lower of another brand within a week from somewhere else?

Quality. Geoff ( former USN match armorer) @ Match Armorers Shop is Building this gun. He has built guns on all major brands of recievers. He has had good and bad recievers in every brand except RRA and Armalite.

RRA are nice, but every mfg has problems from time to time, like here. Personally, I would not wait 8 months for a lower. RRA needs to expand production, but I'm afraid they, for what ever reason, seem reluctant to leave a state that does not want them or any company like them.

no way I would wait 8 months for a lower, especially since you can have a billet lower pretty quick. I have had RRA lowers, and DPMS, bushy etc. It damn near gets down just to a different logo on it and thats it.

I like RRA and I'm not in any particular hurry for it. I thought it was 6 weeks when I ordered it but found out 6 weeks later that it was supposed to be 6 months. It'll get here, if it was for my first rifle I might be anxious but it's not.

I work for a Small shop in Delaware, and i just ordered a RRA complete Lower for a customer, and they told me 10-12 MONTHS.....yeah i said months....like as in could be up to a YEAR....i could prolly teach my self how to machine them in that amount of time..

and i thought DPMS was bad with 10-12 weeks....

Go to Gunbroker, there are all kinds of receivers for sale. I wouldn't wait 2 weeks for anybody's lower at this point.

I'd have to agree. RRA is no way near special enough to justify a year wait.

Same story here. We were originally told 6-8 weeks for delivery.

Just grab a Stag. Pretty much the same thing other than rollmark. Mine actually fits my uppers better than the RRA lower does. Just me but I sure wouldnt wait for one when others can be had cheaper and next day.

I got tired of waiting and picked up a CMMG lower from Aimsurplus. I slapped on a hogue grip and a RRA nm trigger, and it feels every bit as good as every RRA I've shot. Not quite as tight a fit with my brand new RRA upper, but no complaints anyway.

i picked up a rra lower from a gun show and it broke when switching punching out rear trigger guard pin. i dont know if they will replace it or not but i knew the wait would take forever either way so i just went to the gun show a in a different city a few weeks after it broke and picked up a CMMG which are supposed to be pretty good.

I've used Colt, bushmaster, Essential Arms, Dpms, Pwa, I just finished a stag build and I am pleased. All the parts dropped right in and finish is aswome. 115. shipped from a vendor on gun broker.

You may have just gotten a shitty one[superior lower]. I have put together 3 rifles on superior lowers in the last month and all parts fit great ,way tighter upper / lower fit than the guns I have built on DPMS lowers.

Yeah, I've done 2 builds on Superior lowers and they all turned out great. The LPK dropped right in and teh fit to the uppers was great.

I've also built on DPMS and Oly lowers. The DPMS was the hardest to assemble, but in fairness it was my very first build.

I just ordered a RRA standard A4 and I have a 8-10 week wait. Maybe I should just ordera stripped lower NOW and maybe I can start putting it together by 2009

If you order a complete rifle, you SHOULD be ok.

My local shop has at least one RRA lower in stock right now. If you want to pay for it, they are asking $159 I think. I just picked up three Stags because I didnt want to wait or pay the price for the RRA.

Cripes I put in an order fora shorty buffer tube, A2 stock screw, anda stock spacer two freaking weeks ago and they still haven't charged my credit card.

Anyone know an alternate source for the 'entry stock' buffer tube?

I picked up a RRA Lower at the Indy 1500 gun show last weekend. Much better than a long wait. I also picked up a CMMG lower.

You do realize that Stag and RRA are made on the exact same lower receivers, right?!

IT'S A FREAKING ROLL MARK that designates the difference.

I might wait 8 months for a KAC SR-15.

I wouldn't wait 5 minutes for a RRA or any other off-brand AR lower.

Finally a plus for Illinois. A guy at the Bloomington, IL gun show had RRA lowers on his table to buy. I got the last 6.8 SPC marked lower he had.

Model One sells the entry stock, so they probably have buffer tubes.

I have to admit that every RRA product I've tried was great, but I think there is a bit of unwarranted snobbery regarding the quality of their lowers and their products in general... I think all the big brands are equally good. From reading in this forum, it appears RRA has a bad day once in a while too.

I would not wait 2 weeks for anyone's lower nowadays when you can get great lowers from tons of sources for under $120 and they are in stock.
