will any H-buffer and spring work in either of these tubes? I am getting a Vltor stock and a new, Mil-Spec buffer tube. Can I re-use my same buffer and recoil spring. Do I need a new endplate and castle nut as well? Thanks!

I dont see why not. As long as you have carbine tube, spring, and buffer and likewise with rifle length tube, spring, and buffer. You might need a new end plate and castle nut, I'm not sure. Someone else can help you with that one.

Its my understanding the the tubes OD is the only difference.
