I want to get rid of the front sling mount on one of my rifles without removing the FSB from the barrel. I know i could just chop the loop off with a dremel and leave the rivet and the little piece on the rivet but I would like to get the rivet out too. So my questions, anyone know any tricks to doing this  finish intact? Thanks in advance.

I used a punch and a hammer, comes clean off.

That worked like a charm! (I also wanted to do this, it kept slapping my light and making a noise)  I was scared that all that beating would knock loose my FSB, but it didn't... I think

The punch and hammer was my initial thought but knocking the FSB loose was my concern.  But I guess I will give it a go.  Thanks for the help.

It really doesn't take much force, I just got it started and then used a leatherman to coax it out!

Worked like a charm no more annoying clicking up against the light. Thanks guys.

Now if someone just made a bi-pod adapter that would attach to the gun using the bayonet lug and sling mount pin.
