This is my first post, and my first weapon build. When I got into this I had no idea how many options there were for the black rifle, but I have waded through these forums and other online resources and come up with this build. From buying the stripped lower to firing my first shot through will have been about two months. Anyway, here is the list. Tell me what you think! Thank you for all the help with so many informative posts. Double Star stripped lower (marked 5.56mm) DPMS lower parts kit Magpul enhanced trigger guard CAR six position stock LMT 16" upper assembly (1x7, chrome-lined, flat-top with feed ramps, M4 profile bbl and M4 handguards) CMT forged charging handle (arrives this week) DPMS TiN bolt carrier group (also arrives this week) My plans for the future include switching the M4 handguards for a Troy MRF-C rail setup and Troy BUIS for sights. And if I can ever put the cash together in one stroke I will probably go for an ACOG 4x32 for my primaries. So far building this has been a blast. I can't wait to go to the range and put some holes in paper! Again, thank you for all the quality info and posts. I would have never attempted to do this had a resource such as this not existed. I plan on building several other AR's. Perhaps a Grendel SPR and a short barreled 6.8 SPC at some point. Pics of this build will be coming soon. |
