I am in the research process of building 2 rifles.  1 is a 20” target / varmint rifle and the other a 16” tactical carbine. I have looked at countless upper / rifle configurations and have decided on building custom lowers for both and semi-custom uppers form a company like J&T Dist.  The upper I had in mind is the 24” Match-15 Fluted Bull Barrel Upper:

Upper only:

Complete rifle:

Anyone ever purchased one of these?  I’m asking them to switch the barrel for a 20” non-fluted, but keeping the rest the same.  The main feature drawing me to this upper / complete rifle is the Badger Ordinance Stabilizer Handgurad:

Any information on J&T rifle’s accuracy, these Badger’s handguards, or some suggestions of other rifles I should look at in the same price range would be appreciated.

Hey again!

J&T guys rock!

I work with them at the Funshow when they are in Nashville.

Great products, great service

Everything I've read about them says they're great to deal with.  I'm still waiting to hear about my customizing requests, but I really don't foresee that being an issue either.  My main concern was that I have never seen or heard of anyone else using these handguards from Badger.  Badger has a great rep, but I just figured if this equipment would be in more stores and an option on more rifles.

Hey, Red. I have a 20" Bull build from J&T with the Badger handguard. My rifle likes Black Hills 69-77 gr. loads. I haven't really stretched it's legs yet but it seems to shoot pretty nice. At a hundred yards it's pretty easy to get 3/8" for 3 shot groups and will put 10 shots into less than an inch most times. This is with a $70 Tasco scope. I'd say the potential is definitely there! Great service as well.

i have used J&T before, good company..

haven't used those handguards before. i did look at them when deciding on my current varmint build.

i use badger Ord. rings and bases on my 700 .300winmag. only have the best things to say of their product. so that is probable true of their handguards also.

I just bought a J&T upper, 24" 1:10 bull barrel, Doublestar upper.  Shoots like a beauty, and the guy I dealt with at the gun show was a pleasure to deal with.

Most of us would be happy our GF just got it to start with.

Most of us would be happy just to have a GF.

My wife would kill me if I did.

I got a J&T 22" bull kit a couple of months ago.  It will shoot 68 grain BTHP's and 52 grain MHP under and inch easily.  It really likes the 60 grain Vmax though.  Scary accurate and makes 5 shot .5" groups seem easy.
