I just assembled a carbine with a LAR Grizzly lower and Del-ton upper parts kits.

There is some "play" at the front pivot pin area.

Is there a way to make this tighter?  (I went to Brownells and they do sell the larger pins but I don't know if the Colt type front pivot pin would be too large.)

Any ideas to remedy this "looseness" problem in the front pivot pin?  Is it ok to have some play at the front?  My Colt doesn't have this "play".

Thanks for any info.

if i understand your problem correctly, put an o-ring around the lug.  it won't last forever, but they're cheap.

To start with, the large pin for Colt's are for the earlyfront hinges, which are much larger  (.318 vs .250) than your piece. Buying one for your piece would be a total waste of money.

What you have is an example of the "I'll buy one piece here, another there" approach to AR building. When I do it, I take the piece I have, upper or lower, to the gun show, and find tha other side that fits well. Mail order on major parts is always a crap shoot.

Ok guys, thanks for the info.  My Colt is old and tight.

I guess I'll just take the new gun to the range and see how it shoots.  It just has a little play that I'm not used to.

Great link.  Thanks!

What do you think of the Armalite uppers?  They look real nice.
