I am going to modify one of my lowers to capture the rear pin detent spring and I cannot find #4-40 set screws.

The #4-40 is between a #41 and #43 drill index, a #41 drill bit fits the hole real well, so a #4-40 tap will be a little tight, but will work.

Does anyone know where I can get some set screws that small?

I called a few places today, but they wanted $10 shipping for a $2.00 pack of 10 screws...

Thanks,

Take a look at a local hobby shop, 4-40 set screws are used in radio control cars, planes, and a lot of other things.. ht

My chart says #43 (0.0890") bit for a 4-40 tap.

Check McMaster Carr for set screws.

Try your local industrial supply store:
Richards Equipment, Fastenal, etc...

Here in smalltown TX, I purchased the tap from Fastenal and they gave me two set screws...
