This is a shotgun that I bought 11 years ago(19 yrs old) that I severely neglected and abused as a "house gun" ever since. It is a Sears model 200(Winchester 1200?) that i chopped at 18 1/2 and threw a pistol grip on. So 11 yrs later I decided to refinish it lest I lose one of the first guns I ever bought($60). I did not feel that using a finish that required blasting and baking was warranted for this gun so I choose Aluma Hyde II. I removed all rust from the metal, ran sandpaper across the aluminum receiver and wiped all surfaces with commercial grease/wax remover(the kind that says not for sale to public). Sprayed the parts in 70 degree heat and immediately transferred the parts to hang by the wood stove for a week.
Today, over a week later i reassembled the gun and experienced no chipping problems on mating surfaces. Did have some problems with marring getting the pump grip nut over the thick finish on the mag tube.

I REALLY don't like Marvin(getting better in his old age), and that guy that works on the AR stuff(younger with hat)always wants to argue and thinks AR type rifles are the answer to everything. Other than that the people and and the selection is top notch(mostly)The bigger guy with dark hair and glasses is very helpful and great to talk to.
Marvin has said so much rediculous stuff over the years.......like "Rugers are junk rifles and cant shoot better than one in inch groups at 100yds in varmint caliber".....my 22-250 is .250-.6" @ 100 yds

Just noticed that you did the wood as well.  How did that go?

It seems to have bonded really well. The wood is walnut(I think) and was that classic American glossy finish crap(can't stand that look). I scratched it fairly lightly with something like 220 grit.
I worked the action a few times yesterday and looks like there will be no problems with chipping or  failure to bond.

Oh yeah......and the pump tube does slide over the mag tube fairly easily.....somewhat sticky when it is all the way forward as I really laid on the paint where the mag tube would be exposed just behind the barrel "ring"
