Recommended upper only? > Build It Yourself

Need a little help here finding a good quality upper. I want a flat top, like a CMT with BUIS, 14.5 w/ 1/7, FSB, mid length standard handgaurds, pinned FH.

Ive been watching for the Bravo Company BCM upper, but Ive just plain given up on them. LMT doesnt do mid length, and Stag doesnt do 14.5 or midlength.
I was looking at CMMG, but Ive read some mixed opinions on them. Mostly concerning the barrels and canted FSBs.

Can anyone recommend a dealer where I can get this setup at a fair price?

but I dont think you'll be able to find a 14.5 with a pinned FH. You might have to get a 16" and then have it cut down.

Excellent recommendation bigcraig.

Craigand and anjan, do you guys know any dealers for Sabre that will cut it down and pin it? Im assuming you have to go through a dealer to get SD stuff, or am I wrong here? Any ARF dealers carry SD?

I think Rainier carries Saber, as well as PKFirearms, but I don't know if either of them offer pinning services.

Just send them an e-mail, both shops are good people.

PkFirearms and Talon Arms both have Sabre Defence. I dont know if either of them can do the cutting and pinning. Adco or Ar15barrels can do your cutting and pinning if the dealers cant.

I specifically bought a CMMG 16" because I've never read a single bad thing about them! Incidently, a perfect barrel and a plumb FSB.

NBS, I think you've identified a problem that doesn't exist.

Hey, Im not pointing fingers and I know nothing first hand. I was looking into CMMG because I was fixin' to pull the trigger on a built upper. I just happened across a couple posts on another M4 forum saying there was a problem with their personal experiences with CMMG. That doesnt mean a whole lot considering the source of the negative comments and the positive feedback Ive read, but it does make one wonder.

Im not trying imply that CMMG ever built anything that wasnt within spec and top notch. Probably not the best choice of words in my post. Im just trying to get the best bang for my buck here. Actually CMMG seemed to offer what I want at a good price, but bigcraig has me looking really close at the SD stuff now.
