Ok, so this is my first AR-15 build. I just finished tricking out a 10/22, and I feel ready for the big leagues.

I've done a bit of research, and decided on an RRA, since they seem very DIY friendly. I've already ordered a stripped lower through Gunbroker, and I intend to get the rest from rbprecision, due to their lower prices.

My desired rifle is pretty basic, it's going to be an A4 carbine, but I'd like a removable front sight/weaver gas block. I also like the Hogue grip and free float tube, because it really preserves the classic lines of the rifle, while adding some improved ergonomics.

My question is this:

does it make more sense to go with the complete rifle kit that they sell, (AR4002)  or would I be better off getting an upper half and the rest separately?

Keeping in mind that if I got the kit, I'd end up getting the removable sight and Hogue stuff anyway...

Thanks a lot for your thoughts.

My only advice too you is, If you know what you want.........get what you want. Don't settle for what someone else wants to put together for you.

I would think they would give you the parts you want in the kit (granted you will pay a little extra), or you can purchase all the parts you want separate, and have them assemble (upper i mean) for you....i know Adco will.

 Have fun with it.
