i've been thinking about doing an sbr with my ar, but still not quite sure about everything. what my idea is, is to use one of the incredibly short ar pistols barrells, and a pigtail gas tube, i have a standard car length quad rail that i plan on using, along with a suppressor. good idea? decent idea? smack myself? most importantly, anyone else do something similar? cycle problems? so on and so on.

You might do some research on using a suppressor on anything shorter than 11.5 inches. Check with the manufacturer of the suppressor as well. Some won't warranty the suppressor if it was shot on less than an 11.5 inch barrel.
