I just built up a pre ban Olympic/SGW lower with a Stag lefty top end. The lower build went together without a hitch (CMT/Stag parts), stock no problems. Big problems mounting the upper to the lower. The lower was so out of spec that when I went to close the upper and lower together, the rear tang (takedown pin lug) was hitting the side (right) of the lower receiver. When I put pressure on the upper and lower, I can close it. However, in doing so, the bolt catch appears to be binding and wont hold open the bolt. I don't know what else could be causing the bolt catch to fail. I called Olympic today (they didn't answer any of their e-mails). Their service department said to send it in and they'd look at it, but didn't know if they would be able to do anything. I asked about their "lifetime warranty", and was told that receiver was built before the lifetime warranty. How convenient. Any ideas for a functional fix, Or is this a lost cause? |
