My local dealer told me today that he just got word that it will be 3-6 months before the stripped lower I ordered comes in.

I already have everything else.

I don't think I'm that patient!  Time to start looking for a different lower.

There are always lowers out there.

I would definately look somewhere else.

What brand lower did you order?

Like Tri said, there's plenty out there but if you're holding out for only one particular brand your dealer may be right.

Ask him what brand he can get sooner.

I had ordered Rock River.  It's the only brand they sell.

I looked around online and found a DPMS stripped lower in stock at a dealer in Phoenix.  Since I'm taking my wife up there to visit her sister next weekend anyway, I called them to confirm that they are in stock and just ordered that one and cancelled the RRA lower with the local guy.

Week and a half instead of 3-6 months (on an order I had already been waiting 6 weeks on).  All good now.  I hope...

There are plenty of lowers around, especially in the EE. LMT, Sabre, Mega, DPMS, Stag, etc.

Glad you found one, look forward to some range reports!

DPMS lowers are just as good as any others out there. You shouldn't have any problems finishing your build with that one. A panther on the side is just as good as a reticle.

+1 for the DPMS. It's fit and finish is very good, but the RRA is just a bit better. I would rather have lower now and if you don't like it, replace it with an RRA later. Remember this is a disease, you will always want another AR-15.
