Is there some sort of magic to get the detent out of an A2 front sight base? I was under the impression that the front sight held it in. I've got the front sight out, but the detent ain't budgin'. Any thoughts?

Put in a few drops of Break-Free or Kroil, let soak.
Take a small wooden Q-tip and push the detent up and down a few times on the spring and it should come right out.
