I am getting ready to do a new build. I am going to get a 20 " kit from Del-Ton. I would like a low profile gas block. Does anyone have any pics of a YHM specter gas block on their rifle (preferably next to a 4 rail handgaurd)? If not, does it look similar to the LaRue low profile gas block?

Also if I was to do a 16" kit with the specter gas block. Can I have them put a rifle length 4 rail ff handguard on it so it will complety cover the gas block?

This is my first post. I am new to the site. I have been browsing for about a week. I just wanted to say WHAT A GREAT SITE! I have enjoyed reading all of your posts thus far and look forward to learning more.

Hey Duramax, welcome to the sight ! I recently finished a similar build to what you are planning. I used an 18" barrel and a Yankee Hill Machine Lighweight Freefloat handguard. I used the low pro gas block which was concealed by the HG.

Here is the gas block when I installed it....

Here is the HG being lined up with the upper's rail......

Here is the finished product......

Good luck with your build and be careful, there's a thing going around called BRD!

Nice rifle...
With YHM rails, you can cover the gas system with-
carbine length gas system: midlength rail (partially), specter length rail, rifle length rail
midlength gas system: specter rail (partially), rifle length rail

The 20" is most likely going to have a rifle length gas system.  You will need a carbine or midlength gas system - generally 16" and 18" barrels.  I'm sure DelTon has one of those options.  Also, YHM rails are probably the largest in the clearance department, so just about any gas block that is low-pro or designed to be covered will work.
